Escape 2 Create @ Trinity Haven

Well, i was fortunate enough to attend the annual Escape 2 Create Mini Retreat at Trinity Haven a couple of weeks ago now....and loved it!

Many thanks to Meredith Treloar, Amanda Hall & Sue Parsons for thier amazing organisation, also to everyone that set up and cooked, it was a fantastic weekend.

I managed to get quite a few pages done, and for the majority was pretty happy with the end result. It was also very inspiring to walk around the room and see what all the other very talented ladies in the room were creating.

Below are the pages i created

I was pretty chuffed with the end results, and got some more photos out of the way for DD number one.

I was also very lucky to be taken out to learn about photography and get a couple of 'lessons' during the E2C Weekend!

Tiff Firth you are a wonderful woman to take time out of your scrapbooking to take myself and Denise out for some one on one time with you. I apolgise for being so vague but i really appreciated your time and patience with me, and i think it is already paying off :)
Here are a couple of shots we got while we were out playing with our cameras - thanks to Tiff for all your help again.

These first couple are playing with a time lapse to make the moving water blur and almost foam, which was great fun - my afternoon shots were not anywhere near as good as my morning ones.

Then Tiff got a call about an Aurora Australis - so we packed the car and cameras quickly and drove down the road. My photos from this little expedition are not to the standard of Tiff and Denise, but you can see a slight glow in my image and that is enough to make me happy :) Here they are.

Thanks for looking :)

Just creating

Well i haven't really had time to scrap. That is only becuase i have been so busy creating (and loving it), so i am going to post some photos of the creations that i have been working on, and that have been holding me back from scrapping.

We had the local show here on the weekend, and i usually enter some craft/handicraft and photos in. The entry numbers are slowly but surely decreasing every year which is such a shame, but hopefully this year was just an off year and we will see more next year.

I decided i wanted to dabble in Mixed Media, becuase the work i have been seeing around the place is fantastic to say the least. So i created a mixed media canvas, and although i have alot of fine tuning of my skills i was pretty happy with the outcome. It also won Most outstanding for its section which was awesome.

There was also a section in Handicraft for a painted or decorated work boot for year of the farmer. I put two in and they were completely different to one another. Here they are below.

This one was great fun to make - although it was a little tedious. I have had alot of comments about the poor boot that was used in the making of this one. But i think the scarecrow that i pinched it from is not really going to miss it.

The other one is a decorated one, and more of a girly type boot.

I had so much fun doing these - something different!

Thanks For Looking - have a great week :)

Sneaky Peaky

I had a friend tell me the other day that i needed to update my blog, but there has been so much happening this month that i haven't really thought about scrapping let alone blogging. :) But i thought i would try this sneaky thing that i have been seeing alot more of just recently and post some photos of a project that i am working on for our local show. I love how it turned out, but i think i had better wait until after to show you the full thing - as it will not be judged until Saturday.

Here is my sneaky Peaky Photo. I do not want to give too much away yet, but you may get the idea ;)

One more for Luck!

This is great, i have been playing around with many options etc, and am starting to really enjoy this blog thing......whoops, i knew that would happen.

Here is one more page that i wanted to share before retiring for the night.

This was a page created for the July Challenge for Scrap Therapy - i managed to submit this one so fingers crossed.

My first Scrap Page Post

So i am still learning about all this blog stuff, but what better way to learn but to get on and put some pages on i have completed recently.

This page was done for a challenge blog, but quickly became a 'just for fun' page when i realised i could not submit it due to not having my own blog.

I like this one and i am quickly adapting to using sketches which i have found can be not only a challenge but fun too. The colours are different to what i usually would sketch, with two little girlies in the house they tend to be my subject matter for the most part.

Hope you like it Tiff :)

So here we go........

I was adamant that i was not going to create a blog because i lack time now, and i could only imagine that i would start this thing and be hooked, and not able to do much else.

So as you can see i stuck to my guns and am now a 'blogger', but in my defense i have done it for a good reason. I decided last month that i was going to step out of my comfort zone and do some blog challenges for scrapbooking.....well i managed to get one done in the nick of time, however i could not link my blog to it because i did not have one. So here it is and i can now create and post on here and hopefully join the challenge blogs from time to time.
